We apologise for being away so long.......

Our previous domain provider suspended the service to many sites like ours and removed them without notice. We have finally set up with a new provider and just have to rebuild the site from scratch. We hope that you will bear with us while we do this. We can always be contacted on info@swimfit-devon.co.uk or on 01626 833260 and we will be happy to answer any questions or take bookings.

Our aim at SwimFit is to help improve the quality of life of our clients by providing the best  possible fitness and rehabilitation service in a warm and caring atmosphere.

SwimFit Canine Hydrotherapy offers the most comprehensive service in the area. About 20 minutes from Exeter or Torquay and 5 minutes from the A38 Devon Expressway, SwimFit is within easy reach of most of South Devon.

We can offer hydrotherapy for fitness, weight loss and recovery from trauma.

Overlooking the beautiful Teign  valley our pool is specially designed for canine hydrotherapy.

Entry to the pool, the top of which is at ground level, is by ramp or assistance from our staff. We do not use mechanical hoists or rope systems which are so frightening for the dogs. Once in the pool dogs are supported by a buoyancy aid and one or two poles depending on ability.

The pool is heated to a constant 26 degrees and the water quality is monitored very carefully.

Water quality being double checked by Jim and Ghandi von der Zenteiche!

Once relaxed in the pool and when fit enough dogs can swim against single or twin water jets that can be adjusted from a gentle current to almost white water!

After swimming dogs are rinsed and dried so that they can travel home in comfort. SwimFit use one of the latest "blasters" to dry the dogs so that they do not lose the natural oils in their coats.

Sandra Tucker and Jim Apps, who originally opened SwimFit for their showdogs, have many years of experience in breeding, training and showing dogs under their Jutone & Felsental affixes. The pool was opened to the public in 2005 when Sandra and Jim were trained in hydrotherapy by one of the UK's top animal physiotherapists. They were also supervised by a vet for their first year of opening.

On holiday in the West Country? Is your dog undertaking a course of hydrotherapy elsewhere? We are happy to swim your dog while you are here providing we have approval from your vet and a contact number for your usual pool.
